Prabhupada Wants Us To Become Pure Devotees

In his purport to Sri Caitanya Caritamrita, Madhya Lila, Chapter 24, Text 98 Srila Prabhupada enlightens us as follows:

"Only a pure devotee can convert others to pure devotional service. It is therefore important for all the preachers in our Krishna consciousness movement to first become pure devotees and follow the regulative principles, refraining from illicit sex, meat-eating, gambling and intoxication. They should regularly chant the Hare Krishna maha-mantra on their beads, follow the devotional process, rise early in the morning, attend mangala-arati and recite Srimad-Bhagavatam and the Bhagavad-gita regularly. In this way, one can become purified and free from all material contamination."

Therefore if we have any feeling of compassion upon the suffering souls of today's grossly misguided world, we must follow Srila Prabhupada's above instructions and qualify ourselves to help others to become free from all suffering by coming to Krishna consciousness. We need to begin our day by rising early, taking bath and observing mangala-arati either at the temple or at home.

Question: Why God Has Made Us Diseased?

Please help me. I have a doubt. If we emanated from God, why does He make us diseased?

Sowmya

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Answer: God Did Not Make Us Diseased. We Did .

This is our disease that we want to blame God for our sufferings in this material existence. We are just like the child who runs away from and then blames his parents for the difficultieshe faces while living on the street. We foolishly abandoned the world where there is no disease trading it for the world where there is disease. And now we foolishly want to blame God for that which is clearly our fault, not His.

Visiting a Dying Godbrother

On 27 September 2013 here in Vrindavan, I visited my dear Godbrother, His Grace Sriman Pundarikaksam Prabhu, who is slowly dying from Alzheimer's disease. As young brahmacaris serving together in Gainesville, Florida back in the early 70's we shared many a sweet moment together. It is certainly sobering to see how heavy the sufferings of material existence can be. Even though he and I were friends, he did not show any sign of recognizing me. Although he spoke not a single word, when I lovingly placed my hands on his shoulders, he reciprocated by softly grasping my forearm. It is his great fortune that he has been provided a facility in Vrindavan in the Bhaktivedanta Hospice where he can be lovingly taken care of until he leaves his body in this most auspicious place in the entire universe.

Question: Why Not Become Krishna's Enemy?

My dear Gurudeva,

Srila Prabhupada says that anybody who is killed by Krishna attains liberation. At the present moment, we all are chanting Hare Krishna mantra, trying to be free from lust and going out to preach. The logic is why not become Krishna's enemy? When we become His enemy He will come personally to kill us. With this, the eternal dream of seeing Krishna face to face will be fulfilled, and we will get liberation. So why not become Krishna's enemy?

Vrutant Shah

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Answer: Only Big, Big Demons Are Personally Killed by Krishna

To be personally killed by Krishna requires that one become such a powerful demon that he can terrorize the entire universe. To attain that much power requires a greater amount of penances and austerities than anyone in this present age is able to practice. Therefore it is better to take the simple path of devotion to Lord Krishna and in that way easily qualify oneself to go back to home, back to Godhead.

Krishna's Glories Melt Stones Away In Ecstatic Love

You will never find a person more amazing than Krishna anywhere within all of existence because Krishna is indeed the very source of all existence. Whoever says that Krishna is a myth is a fool number one, who doesn't even know the first thing about reality. Such deluded persons, who are unqualified by their envy to personally meet Krishna, will meet Him in the form of all-devouring death. It is better to meet Krishna like His devotees meet Him, as the Supreme Personality of Godhead whose glories are so amazing that when sung they cause even stones to melt away in ecstatic love.

Question: Why Do Devotees Suffer?

I am sorry to learn about the demise of your disciple. In this regard I have a question.

Lord Krishna states in the Bhagavad-gita that He takes care of all sinful reactions of one who fully surrenders unto Him. The devotees who have taken initiation under you have certainly surrendered fully unto the lord. Then why do they have to suffer their past karma and that too a painful disease like cancer?

Kindly enlighten me in this regard.

Your servant,
Deepanshu

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Answer: They Experience Suffering as a Blessing

By the grace of Krishna for a devotee the reactions of past karma are reduced almost to nil. Whatever token reactions they do experience they accept as the special mercy of Krishna to facilitate their rapid advancement in Krishna consciousness. For them it is not suffering. Rather it is a blessing that, like a springboard, catapults them into the divine realm of Krishna prema.

Krishna's Mercy Never Fails

There's one thing you can count on in all times, places, and circumstances, and that is the mercy of Krishna, because He bestows unlimited mercy upon all living beings at every moment. Whatever difficulties we are experiencing are caused by our foolishness, not by Krishna's lack of mercy. It was our foolish desire to try to enjoy separately from Krishna, and now we are reaping the bitter result. So now all we have to do is give up our foolish war of so-called independence and once again subordinate ourselves to our beloved Lord. If we will do this, we will experience that there are no difficulties at all. We will always feel and celebrate how we are being blessed by the unlimited, sweet mercy of Krishna at every second.

My Disciple, Lalita Devi Dasi, Leaves Her Body

25 September 2013--I got a telephone call early this morning from my disciple, Abhay Charan Das, who was bringing his sister Lalita Devi Dasi (who is also my disciple) to Vrindavan by train. This was her last wish as she was soon to die of cancer. Lalita's mother, father, husband, son, and daughter were also present. They were about two-and-a-half hours from their arrival at Mathura station. Lalita's breathing had become irregular and Abhay Charan sensing that her end was near called me in Vrindavan and asked me if they should disembark from the train. I instructed him that they should continue traveling to Vrindavan and do kirtan for her non-stop. The next call I got about an hour later was that she had left her body. Lalita peacefully left her body in a happy state of mind as seen in the picture below by the serene smile on her face. When they arrived in Vrindavan immediate arrangements were made for her cremation on the bank of the sacred Yamuna river. Many devotees attended the cremation and blessed it with Hare Krishna kirtan. I prayed to Krishna that my disciple, Lalita Devi Dasi, may be now forever situated in His eternal pastimes in the spiritual world.

Question: How to Be Liberated in This Materialistic Age?

Respectful honors to Guruji,

If one wants to be a eternal servant of the Supreme Almighty Personality of Godhead Krishna in Goloka Vrindavana, to come out of samsara sagara, the ocean of birth and death, in the current lifetime, but out of the strong influence of maya, especially in this present materialistic age of Kali in which the three modes of material nature are very strong, he is helpless and unable to surrender to the Lord, would he, since he has the spiritual thirst within, go back to spiritual abode at the end of his present life?

Humbly,

Ramesh R.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Answer: A Strong Thirst is All That is Required

A strong thirst is all that is required. If one is truly spiritually thirsty, Krishna will empower him to break free from the influence of the material nature and fully surrender unto Him. This will guarantee his entrance into the spiritual world at the time of death.

Back to Home, Back to Vrindavana Ki Jaya!

It's really great to be back here in Lord Sri Krishna's transcendental abode, Sri Vrindavana Dhama. Every particle of dust here is more valuable than all of the gold and jewels contained in the entire universe. Those who are fully realized in Krishna consciousness can see how Krishna's pastimes are still going on here in Vrindavan, even today. And even for those who can't directly perceive Krishna face-to-face, eye-to-eye, this is the place in this material world where they feel the most strongly connected with Krishna. To feel connected with Krishna is the perfection of our existence because He is the very source of our existence and indeed of all existence. Therefore being in Vrindavana facilitates the perfection of consciousness. Who could ask for a better place of residence than this? Therefore even when they are not in Vrindavana, the devotees always carry Vrindavana with them in their hearts wherever they may travel within this material world. In this way the devotees are always living in Vrindavana relishing the sweetest bliss within their hearts.

On Sunday 22 September 2013 in New Delhi, in pursuance of the order I received from my spiritual master to spread the Krishna consciousness movement all over the world, I gave seven sincere devotees the key to deathlessness by accepting them as my disciples. It was ecstatic to see these devotees making a firm commitment to serve guru and Krishna for all of eternity. Answer: Floods Are the Result of Sin

Too little rain and too much rain are both the result of sinful activities. The proper balance of rain is the result of wide scale performance of the sankirtana yajna, the congregational chanting of the holy names of God. Therefore everyone all over the world should be engaged in the regular perform of the sankirtana yajna to bring all auspiciousness to the earth planet.

Taming the Wild Beast Within

Lurking within the hearts of each of us is a savage beast known as the false ego. That false ego is a lusty, angry, greedy, illusioned, insane monster. He can be partially curbed down by education in moral principles. And he can be completely conquered once and for all by going even deeper within the self to discover the real ego, the pure devotee of Krishna who resides within. In other words that savage monster is simply a covering of the great pure-hearted soul who is the actual self. With the help of scriptures, saints, and Sri Guru we must penetrate into the innermost cores of our beings so we can be who we really are, instead of the wild beasts that we often are at the present moment.

When the Material World is More than You Can Handle

Sometimes we feel that we have things under control and everything is going okay. And sometimes things get really tough and it starts to feel that we are getting more difficulties than we are able to handle. This duality is natural as long as we are in this material world. The key is to always remain steady in all circumstances. This steadiness comes from clearly knowing what is our duty and sticking to it in all circumstances without deviation. That duty is to fully surrender to Krishna under the loving guidance of the bona fide spiritual master. This dedication will always give us peace of mind even under the most trying of circumstances.

Answer: When We Violate God's Law We Are Punished

Our spiritual master, Srila Prabhupada, has answered your question as follows:

"The living beings who have come to the material world against the will of the Supreme Being are under the control of a supreme power called maya-sakti, the deputed agent of the Lord, and this daivi maya is meant to pinch the conditioned souls by threefold miseries, one of which is explained here in this verse (Srimad Bhagavatam 1.13.47): the weak are the subsistence of the strong. No one is strong enough to protect himself from the onslaught of a stronger, and by the will of the Lord there are systematic categories of the weak, the stronger and the strongest. There is nothing to be lamented if a tiger eats a weaker animal, including a man, because that is the law of the Supreme Lord."

Joyful Return to the Holy Land

We have now returned to the holy land of India. This is Lord Krishna's favorite place in this universe. Even though it is presently very much covered over by the influence of the Kali yuga, the signs and symptoms of its former Vedic culture are still often wonderfully manifested. For example, as we were leaving the arrivals area in the New Delhi airport we had to turn in a baggage declaration slip to the government officials. As we did so the government man joyfully said to us, "Hare Rama." I replied with "Hare Krishna" and thanked him profusely for his auspicious greeting. India is naturally a Krishna conscious place, but it is presently being spoiled by materialistic politicians who are not coming in the fine tradition of Parikshit Maharaja and Yudhisthira Maharaja.

Why Krishna doesn't take care of what is morality and what is immorality? For instances, Krishna kidnapped Rukmini. Krishna told Arjuna to abduct His own sister Subhadra. Moreover, He turned a righteous man like Yudhisthira into a liar. He told Yudhisthira that lie to Dronacharya that Ashwasthama is dead. Aren't all these cases unethical and immoral?

Answer: It Is Our Immorality If We Judge Krishna to Be Immoral

This is our immorality if we judge Krishna as being immoral. This means that we do not understand the pure morality of Krishna. Krishna's devotee is naturally a spiritual teacher, a brahmana, because he loves to teach others about Krishna. Therefore he blissfully absorbs his entire life in spreading the science of Krishna consciousness all over the world without any thought or desire for personal benefit.

16 September 2013--After a short, but ecstatically sweet Radhastami celebration and lecture series here in Timisoara, Romania we are heading out today for a short over-night stop at the Bhaktivedanta Manor in Great Britain on our way to India. This beautiful estate was donated to ISKCON by former Beatle George Harrison. It now serves as the main ISKCON temple in the United Kingdom and attracts large numbers of visitors on a regular basis.

When Bhaktivedanta Manor was donated, Srila Prabhupada said of George, "Because he has given shelter to Krishna by providing this temple, Krishna will surely provide shelter for him." Just before Srila Prabhupada left this world in 1977, he removed the ring on his right hand and said to the disciples around him, "This is for George, give it to him."

We are indeed grateful to Srila Prabhupada for giving us this wonderful Krishna consciousness movement. And we also grateful to George Harrison for the wonderful service he rendered to Srila Prabhupada.

Question: Can One Fall From the Spiritual World?

I read the Questions and Answers for today. You said we fell from the spiritual world. My question is: Can one fall from the spiritual world? I heard in Vaikuntha that not even the leaves fall.

Is our origin from Goloka? If so, does this mean that we can again fall from Goloka once we get there?

Your servant
Bhakta David

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Answer: Since We Fell, One Can Certainly Fall

I stated what Srila Prabhupada taught us, that we fell from the spiritual world. You then inquired if it possible for one to fall from the spiritual world. The obvious answer is that if we fell from the spiritual world, it is certainly possible that one can fall from the spiritual world.

You mention having heard that in the Vaikuntha world not even the leaves fall from the trees, but where is the sastric (scriptural) evidence for this?

Regarding the fall of the jiva, the great Vaisnava authority, His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada has written in his purport to Srimad Bhagavatam 4.28.54 as follows:

"The original home of the living entity and the Supreme Personality of Godhead is the spiritual world. In the spiritual world both the Lord and the living entities live together very peacefully. Since the living entity remains engaged in the service of the Lord, they both share a blissful life in the spiritual world. However, when the living entity wants to enjoy himself, he falls down into the material world. Even while he is in that position, the Lord remains with him as the Supersoul, his intimate friend. Because of his forgetfulness, the living entity does not know the Supreme Lord is accompanying him as the Supersoul. In this way the living entity remains conditioned in each and every millennium. Although the Lord follows him as a friend, the living entity, because of forgetful material existence, does not recognize Him."

When it is sometimes stated that no one falls from the spiritual world this means that our fall down is only in a dream state, it is not our factual position as eternal servants of the Lord. In this dream, we are perpetually dragged from one body to another, lifetime after lifetime, until we finally wake up and regain our natural awakened state in the spiritual sky. Once we regain this liberated position, we will never fall down again, having learned our lesson well.

Although our teaching people how to become fixed in Krishna consciousness is the topmost welfare activity, we are sometimes criticized by less intelligent godless men for doing more harm to the human society than good. Our critics do not understand that everyone in this world is suffering due to a lack of Krishna consciousness and will be blessed with true happiness by reviving their dormant Krishna consciousness. Teaching someone how to surrender to Krishna means to free that person from countless eons of suffering within the cycle of birth and death. Because this Krishna consciousness movement is fully authorized by Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu it will continue to expand more and more until it inundates the entire universe in spite of the criticism of the uninformed and envious.

It's Never Too Late to Rectify Ourselves

Lord Krishna is unlimitedly kind. No matter how much we may have deviated from the path of His devotional service, at any time early on or later on, He is willing to accept us as His devotees and overlook all of our nonsense, provided we are willing to fully surrender ourselves unto Him. Simply we have to be sincere to give up material sense gratification and fully engage ourselves in His service under the guidance of the bona fide spiritual master.

Question: Why Doesn't Krishna Liberate Everyone?

I thank you very much for finding time to answer my questions. I am extremely grateful.

The Lord being almighty can make things right in a fraction of a second. So I would like to ask you: Why doesn't Lord Krishna by His inconceivable power make the whole world, with it's numerous problems, all right?

Why doesn't the Lord liberate all the conditioned souls from their bondage? How can He bear to see the sufferings of the conditioned souls? I see myself and others around me suffering, but I feel helpless because I am unable to help them solve their suffering, although I would like to see everyone happy.

Thank you.

Brijesh D.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Answer: They Don't Want to Be Liberated.

Krishna is willing to liberate all of the conditioned souls throughout all of material existence within a second. But the difficulty is they do not want to be liberated. They prefer to remain in illusion.

If you want to make others happy, fully surrender yourself to Lord Krishna and convince others to do the same by telling them about the wonderful teachings of Krishna. There is no greater welfare than distributing the science of Krishna consciousness to others.

Two Step Defeat of Rascal Materialistic Civilization

The first step in defeating the rascal materialistic civilization is to no longer be its follower. You have to start thinking out of the box. In other words don't remain a blind follower of a culture that negates your very identity. Instead identity yourself with a culture that reaffirms who you actually are and teaches how to be who you actually are. In this way be a perfect example, a man or woman of ideal character. The next step is to take every available opportunity you get to tell others about the profound teachings of Lord Sri Krishna and the ecstatic lifestyle that follows in their wake. Boldly and enthusiastically take these two steps and you will be spiritual revolutionary whose very presence on this planet will have a profound impact for defeating the rascal materialistic civilization.

Question: Shall I Try to Awaken Kundalini?

Thank you very much for clearing my doubts that I have emailed to you. Now may I kindly ask you to let me know if awakening kundalini consciousness is another name for awakening our dormant Krishna consciousness? I submit this question at your feet for your clarification. Also if awakening Krishna consciousness is different than awakening kundalini consciousness, shall I learn to awaken kundalini consciousness also while chanting the Krishna mahamantra?

Thanking you,
Ram

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Answer: Chanting Hare Krishna Does Everything

Regarding kundalini consciousness Srila Prabhupada explains as follows in his purport to Srimad-Bhagavatam 4.23.14:

"The aim of this particular system of asana, known as the sitting posture for liberation, or muktasana, is to attain success in kundalini-cakra and gradually raise the life from the muladhara-cakra to the svadhisthana-cakra, then to the manipura-cakra, the anahata-cakra, the visuddha-cakra, and finally to the ajna-cakra. When the yogi reaches the ajna-cakra, between the two eyebrows, he is able to penetrate the brahma-randhra, or the hole in his skull, and go to any planet he desires, up to the spiritual kingdom of Vaikuntha, or Krishnaloka. The conclusion is that one has to come to the brahma-bhuta stage [SB 4.30.20] for going back to Godhead. However, those who are in Krishna consciousness, or who are practicing bhakti-yoga (sravanam kirtanam visnoh smaranam pada-sevanam [SB 7.5.23]), can return to Godhead without even practicing the muktasana process."

Therefore you should understand that kundalini consciousness is a lower level of consciousness for those who are following the muktasana process of self-realization. This system is very difficult and practically impossible to attain in this age of Kali. But if you will sincerely chant Hare Krishna, you will automatically attain kundalini consciousness and all higher stages of consciousness culminating in Krishna consciousness, the perfection of consciousness. So do not waste time trying separately to attain kundalini consciousness. Simply full absorb yourself in Krishna consciousness and attain the supreme perfection very quickly.

Learn From Radharani How to Always Remember Krishna

If you will always remember Krishna and never forget Him, you will live an eternal existence of unlimited bliss starting right now and forevermore. Kindly note that the quality of your remembrance is most essential. You cannot think of God in a negative way and expect to get the same result. You must think of Him in a very loving and affectionate way like Srimati Radharani thinks of Him. Then you will surely reap the supreme result.

Question: Is Radharani Mentioned in the Bhagavatam?

Kindly enlighten me whether Srimati Radharani's name is mentioned in any of the scriptures like Srimad-Bhagavatam or Upanishads. If not, then why not? Srimad-Bhagavatam is the king of all scriptures, grantharaja, and mentions all the activities of the different avatars including Lord Buddha.

Regards

Parthasarthi Das

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Answer: Srimati Radharani, Although Hidden, is Mentioned

Radharani's name is mentioned in many places in the Vedic literatures. For example in the Padma Purana it is said:

yathā rādhā priyā visnos
tasyāh kundam priyam tathā
sarva-gopīdu saivaikā
vidnor atyanta-vallabhā

"Just as Srimati Radharani is most dear to Krishna, Her bathing pond is similarly dear. Of all the gopīs, She is the most beloved of the Lord."

She is referred to in many places in the Vedic literatures and Her name is also indirectly mentioned as follows in Srimad-Bhagavatam 10.30.28:

anayārādhito nūnam
bhagavān harir īśvarah
yan no vihāya govindah
prīto yām anayad rahah

"Dear friends, the gopī who has been taken away by Krishna to a secluded place must have worshiped the Lord more than anyone else."

The verse begins: anayārādhito nūnam bhagavān Literally this is, "By Her, the
Supreme Personality of Godhead is indeed worshipped."

The word for word break down of this is:

anayā--by Her; ārādhitah--worshiped; nūnam--indeed; bhagavān--the Supreme Personality of Godhead

In this connection the great Vaisnava acharya, Srila Visvanatha Cakravarti Thakur, explains that the word ārādhitah refers to Srimati Radharani. He comments, "The sage Sukadeva Goswami has tried with all endeavor to keep Her name hidden, but now it automatically shines forth from the moon of his mouth. That he has spoken Her name is indeed Her mercy, and thus the word ārādhitah is like the rumbling of a kettledrum sounded to announce Her great good fortune."

Srila Prabhupada also explains:

"The name Radha is derived from this verse (SB 10.30.28), from the words anayārādhitah, meaning 'by Her the Lord is worshiped.' Sometimes the critics of Srimad-Bhagavatam find it difficult to find Radharani's holy name in that book, but the secret is disclosed here in the word ārādhitah, from which the name Radha has come. Of course, the name of Radharani is directly mentioned in other Puranas. This gopi's worship of Krishna is topmost, and therefore Her name is Radha, or the topmost worshiper."

On the Road to Romania to Celebrate Radhastami

Today we are heading out to Romania to celebrate Radhastami, the holy appearance day of Srimati Radharani, with devotees of Krishna from Romania, Hungary, and Bulgaria. It is only by the mercy of Srimati Radharani that we are able to approach Krishna. This is why before we address Krishna we first of all address Srimati Radharani by calling out to her, "Hare." In this connection Srila Prabhupada describes as follows:

"In the beginning of the Hare Krishna maha-mantra, we first address the internal energy of Krishna, Hare. Thus we say, 'O Radharani! O Hare! O energy of the Lord!' When we address someone in this way, he usually says, 'Yes, what do you want?' The answer is, 'Please engage me in Your service.' This should be our prayer."

It is by the mercy of Srila Prabhupada that we are able to understand the actual significance of this human form of life. Therefore we should take proper advantage of his instructions and fully surrender ourselves unto Lord Sri Krishna.

Question: Why Gita Was Spoken on a Battlefield?

What is the primary reason the Gita was spoken on a battlefield at the brink of a war? What is the significance of Krishna choosing to speak the Gita there when He could have spoken the Gita at any other place?

Kumar

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Answer: To Demonstrate the Transcendental Nature of Bhakti

As Krishna is unlimited, so there are unlimited reasons that Krishna chose to speak the Gita when and where He did. Since Krishna is the perfect knower of time, place, and circumstance, He chose the most perfect time, place, and situation to speak the Bhagavad-gita. The Gita being spoken on a battlefield proves that this science of Krishna consciousness is so transcendental that it can be practiced in any situation, even during the height of an intense battle.

Question: Radha and Krishna's Relationship?

I have a question whose answer I am not getting.

Some say Radharani is the aunt of Lord Krishna, whereas some say there's no mention about that. I just wanted to know where in our scriptures is the mention of Radha and Krishna's relationship and if it is true that Radharani is Krishna's aunt.

Please let me know.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Answer: Krishna Expands Himself as Srimati Radharani

Radharani is not Krishna's aunt. We must be very careful to derive our understanding of Vedic truth from the scriptures, not from the so-called hearsay. It is confirmed in the Caitanya Caritamrita that Radharani is the hladini-sakti, the pleasure potency, of Lord Krishna. When Krishna wants to enjoy He has no interest in trying to enjoy the material energy. Rather He expands from Himself His pleasure potency, Srimati Radharani, in whose company He derives unlimited enjoyment.

There is happiness in this material world, but it is not pure. It is adulterated with misery. Therefore it is not real happiness. It is maya-sukhaya, illusory happiness, only. If you want pure unadulterated happiness, you must come to the spiritual platform of realizing that you are the eternal servant of Krishna and engaging yourself practically in His service beginning with your tongue by tasting Krishna prasadam, food offered to Lord Sri Krishna with love and devotion, and by also chanting the Hare Krishna mantra with love and devotion.

Question: Intoxicants Forbidden in Bible and Quran?

Please accept my humble obeisances.
All glories to Srila Prabhupada.

I request you to clarify a confusion:

According to bona fide scriptures one of the four regulative principles to regain one's dormant love for Godhead is avoidance of intoxicants like tobacco and alcohol. I would like to know whether this principle is mentioned in the scriptures of other modes of religious practices like the Bible and the Quran.

Regards,
Sunil

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Answer: Intoxicants Not Favorable for God Consciousness

The principle of avoiding intoxication is common to all religious systems because intoxication dulls the intelligence and weakens one's sense of morality. For example in the Bible in Ephesians 5:18 it is stated,

"Do not get drunk with wine, for that is debauchery, but be filled with the Spirit."

And in the Quran it is stated (Surah 5:90, Yusuf Ali)

"O ye who believe! Intoxicants and gambling, (dedication of) stones, and (divination by) arrows, are an abomination,-of Satan's handiwork: eschew such (abomination), that ye may prosper."

Together We Can Change the World

The present day world situation is hellish. Its educational system all over the world is based on the false bodily conception of existence. Hence the entire global situation in all spheres is gradually descending into more chaos with the poor, bewildered people becoming more miserable as they become ever-increasingly entangled in the karmic network. The good news is that even a small group of devotees of Krishna who are working together in a tight-knit, fully co-operative fashion can have a tremendous impact on the course of human history. Such devotees must be strictly following the orders of the predecessor acharyas and lovingly co-operating with each other. Then the magic will happen.

We are all made of the same stuff, and we all come from the same original source. God, or whatever name you use, means that original source of us all and of all existence. Therefore since there can only be one original source for all existence, God can only be one.

Also, God means the Supreme Being. Just as there can only be one supreme court in a given country, there can similarly be only one Supreme Being. If there is more than one Supreme Being, he is no longer the Supreme Being.

When we take into consideration that the USA government is sanctioning the killing of more than 3,000 babies in the USA everyday by abortion, the idea of attacking Syria becomes absurd. This is the height of hypocrisy. If the USA government leaders feel it is wrong for a government to sanction the mass killing of its own innocent citizens, they should set the example of not sanctioning the killing of their own citizens. I shall keep you posted for guidance and further progress.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Answer: See Who Can Guide You the Bhakti Path

Modern day followers of Islam usually object to the chanting of the Hare Krishna mantra. So I am very happy to learn that despite your being from an Islamic family you are able to chant 16 rounds of Hare Krishna japa mala every day. Kindly note that the word "Islam" is derived from the Arabic root "Salema", which means peace, purity, submission and obedience. So in the religious sense Islam means submission to the will of God and obedience to His law. This is the very essence of Krishna consciousness. This means that when one surrenders to Krishna he is actually the perfect follower of Islam.

Regarding your very important question: The spiritual master is the person that Krishna says you should inquire from to learn the science of Krishna bhakti. So you have to see who is that fixed-up devotee, advanced in Krishna consciousness, who is available to answer your questions and guide you on the path of Krishna bhakti. This is the person whom you should accept as your spiritual master.
