Saturday 29 July 2017 Austin, Texas USA Today's Thought: Do You Believe in God? If someone asks you, "Do you believe in God?", you can answer them as follows: I do not believe in God. I know God. He's my best friend. His name is Krishna because He is all-attractive. He is all-attractive because He possesses unlimited power, unlimited beauty, unlimited renunciation, unlimited knowledge, unlimited wealth, and unlimited fame. He is the source of all existence because everything is emanating from Him. By serving Him with love you become qualified to see Him directly face-to-face, eye-to-eye both here in this temporary material world as well as in His transcendental abode, the spiritual sky. Dear Guru Maharaja, Please, accept my humble obeisances. Even being in such a painful situation you do not stop leading, educating and advising your disciples and all your followers on the Internet out of this material and bodily conditioning that have caused and is still causing us so much pain and distress of different kinds. Gurudeva, among all the people I have met in this life you are my #1 hero and role model. That is a real honor to have your association I am not worth at all. Your compassion is so sincere that even a stone heart like mine is melting in your presence. Your blissful smile is so attractive that seeing it my mind gets fully enchanted. When you speak my sleeping consciousness shows some signs of awakening and when you sing in ecstasy I forget my illusion of thinking "I am this body". Therefore the feeling that comes from knowing that you are physically suffering and I am totally helpless to help you is something I do not know how to deal with. Therefore I ask you: please tell me, what is the right mood of a disciple facing such a situation? What are his words and what are his actions? With tears in my eyes I am praying Krishna to remove your pain and do the best He can to help you in Prabhupada's mission. Your disciple, Guru das Answer: Serve and Pray My Dear Guru Das, Please accept my blessings. Thank you very much for your kind words of devotion. They have brought great relief to me. Strictly follow your initiation vows and work co-operatively as a member of ISKCON for serving our mission of respiritualizing the entire world. When Srila Prabhupada was extremely ill he told us that we could to pray for his recovery with the following prayer as part of our daily routine. "My dear Lord Krishna, if You desire, please cure Srila Prabhupada." So my disciples and students can also pray in this way for me now, "My dear Lord Krishna, if you so desire, please cure our spiritual master." I hope this meets you in the best of health and in an ecstatic mood. Your ever well-wisher, Sankarshan Das Adhikari

Friday 28 July 2017 Austin, Texas USA Today's Thought: Mission Dedication In Spite of Intense Pain I do not know what Krishna has in store for me. The treatment that was supposed to cure the devastating pain which is up and down my left leg has so far been a failure. I do not know how much longer Krishna wants me to stay in this body. But I know one thing for sure. No matter were I am or what body I am in, I am eternally dedicated to my spiritual master to assist him in his world deliverance mission. This gives my mind peace and happiness in spite of the horrible pain I am feeling. Sankarshan Das Adhikari

Hare Krishna, Gurudeva, Please accept my humble obeisances. Gurudeva, once I had asked you how can I please you and you had replied by becoming a pure devotee of Krishna. And while once away from you I had asked how can I serve you and you had replied that by chanting everyday, following the principles and following your instructions I am serving you. Today when you mentioned service in class I started to doubt again whether I am actually serving. I am not able to associate with you physically, Gurudeva, but I never feel that I am away from you. Thank you for such mercy, Gurudeva, and please forgive me for my inability to properly serve. Somehow by your mercy I’m holding on, Gurudeva, and somehow I feel that slowly I am improving. Gurudeva, I have been wondering that is physical service in physical association the only way to serve? How can a person like me, who is not able to physically associate serve you? Gurudeva, I understand that everything can be engaged in Krishna’s service and no material condition can check devotional service. How can I serve in my present position? Your insignificant servant, Answer: Follow Srila Prabhupada's Guidelines From: Austin, Texas USA My Dear Karan, Please accept my blessings. Srila Prabhupada has nicely answered your question as follows:
So you should be writing me regularly with reports of your sadhana and preaching. I hope this meets you in the best of health Your ever well-wisher, Sankarshan Das Adhikari

Thursday 27 July 2017 Austin, Texas USA Today's Thought: Being Always Happy in Krishna Consciousness One of the most wonderful thing about Krishna consciousness is that one can always feel blissful in all situations, even when one is in great difficulty. This is possible because the devotee always sees the loving hand of Krishna even in the most trying and perplexing situations. Therefore he is never perplexed. In the state of mind called Krishna consciousness one always remains peaceful and equipoised even in the most trying and traumatic situations. While this may not be possible for the neophyte devotee in all situations, for the highly advanced devotee such steadiness of mind becomes established as an irrevocable fact. Sankarshan Das Adhikari

Please accept my humble obeisances, Guru Maharaja! Why do we sometime lose interest to do our chanting? How can we overcome such lack of enthusiasm? Please guide me! Your servant! Answer: Flickering Minds Neophyte devotees often experience a flickering mind when they are chanting. The trick to overcoming this bad habit is to bring your mind back to the unlimitedly sweet sound the Hare Krishna mahamantra each time it wanders away. By sincerely practicing this topmost of all meditational arts every day, you will gradually master this and eventually attain the platform from which your mind never deviates from its absorption in Krishna’s holy names. Wednesday 26 July 2017 Austin, Texas USA Today's Thought: Equipoised in All Situations In the Bhagavad-gita Lord Sri Krishna teaches us how to be equipoised in all situations. Some examples of this are pain and pleasure, happiness and distress, honor and dishonor, and also praise and blame. A highly advanced transcendentalist sees each side of these pairs of opposites with an equal eye. So how can we neophyte devotees also perceive them in this way? The easy way to do this is to see everything in a positive way as the special mercy of Krishna to help us awaken pure love of God within our hearts as soon as possible. For example, if one finds himself in a very painful diseased situation, he can appreciate that here is a situation in which he can strongly affirm his spiritual identity totally beyond his suffering body. Just as the king engages one of his loyal citizens to be in charge of the prison, Lord Krishna gives His pure devotee, Srimati Mayadevi, the service of being in charge of maya, His illusory energy. Tuesday 25 July 2017 Austin, Texas USA Today's Thought: Self Realization or Bodily Maintenance? No matter how nicely you maintain your body it will still get sick, get old, and die. In other words, your material body is ultimately a losing proposition. On the other hand, the spirit-soul who resides within your body is eternal, full of bliss, and full of knowledge. That spirit-soul is your actual self, and your material body is simply a garment that you are wearing temporarily. Self-realization is the process of reviving your original spiritual consciousness, which is transcendental to birth, death, old age, and disease. While it is important to keep the body in a healthy state so that you can do your duties properly, it is even more important that you revive your original spiritual consciousness or Krishna consciousness that is currently sleeping within you. This is your ultimate duty. Krishna consciousness is the perfection of self-realization. Sankarshan Das Adhikari

Please accept my humble obeisances. Hare Krishna. Can someone shed light on God and His incarnations, please? How do the three modes affect living entities? Is there any way to resolve the three modes permanently? Regards, Parag R. Rane Answer: Surrender to Krishna Under Guru's Guidance. To gain knowledge about the incarnations of God carefully study Chapter 3 of the First Canto of the Srimad Bhagavatam. Lord Krishna explains in the Bhagavad-gita, Chapter 14, Text 9 that the mode of goodness conditions one to so-called material happiness; passion conditions one to fruitive action; and ignorance, covering one's knowledge, binds one to madness. There is only one way to escape the influence of these modes. One must fully surrender himself to Lord Sri Krishna under the guidance of the bona fide spiritual master. By doing so one will transcend the influence of these modes and never be deluded by them again. Sankarshan Das Adhikari

Monday 24 July 2017 Austin, Texas USA Today's Thought: Beyond Pain and Pleasure Krishna consciousness transcends the pains and pleasures of this material world. Krishna consciousness is the dimension of pure transcendental bliss. Therefore there is nothing of more importance and significance than awakening the dormant Krishna consciousness, which is currently sleeping in our hearts. We master the art of becoming perfectly situated in Krishna consciousness under the guidance of the bona fide spiritual master. Therefore we accept his instructions as the very life and soul of our existence. Sankarshan Das Adhikari

Sunday 23 July 2017 Austin, Texas USA Today's Thought: Spiritual Revolution is the Only Solution To cure a sickness or a disease, a competent physician treats the cause of the disease not the symptoms. At the present moment the human society is in very diseased condition with thousands of symptoms such as as poverty, terrorism, and pollution. Treating the symptoms of the diseased human society will not solve its problems. Only when the underlying cause of the problems is treated will there be success. That underlying cause is godlessness. Therefore by teaching the entire global human society the art of how to put God in the center is the ultimate welfare work and the only real welfare work. Therefore, a spiritual revolution is indeed the only real solution for the modern society's ocean of ills. Sankarshan Das Adhikari

Kindly explain more about what this means. Your insignificant servant in the dust of your lotus feet, Guru Vandana devi dasi Answer: If We Don't Become Devotees, We Are Cheating Ourselves. You are an eternal spiritual being, full of bliss, and full of knowledge. Why cheat yourself by accepting one temporary body after another in a state of ignorance and misery? Be kind to yourself by being who you really are. In other words, if we don't become devotees, we are grossly cheating ourselves. Sankarshan Das Adhikari

Friday 21 July 2017 Austin, Texas USA Today's Thought: Restoration of Vedic Civilization Before the advent of the miserable Age of Kali, the age of quarrel and hypocrisy, 5,000 years ago, the entire global society lived for millions of years in a Vedic age of peace, prosperity, and harmony. The good news is that the scriptures predict a 10,000 years spiritual renaissance, a Vedic age within the Kali yuga. That beautiful spiritual renaissance began five centuries ago with advent of Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu, the Supreme Personality of Godhead appearing as His own devotee and has now been expanded worldwide by ISKCON Founder-Acarya His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada. Although this worldwide spiritual renaissance is presently still in a seed-like state, very soon it will expand like anything and engulf the entire human society. Thus the happy days of Vedic civilization will very soon once again flourish all over the world. Sankarshan Das Adhikari

Thursday 20 July 2017 Austin, Texas USA Today's Thought: You Owe It to Yourself You owe it to yourself to awaken your dormant Krishna consciousness and thus enter into the dimension of eternity, knowledge, and pure transcendental bliss. If you do not, you are simply cheating yourself out of unlimited happiness and relegating yourself to a life of permanent misery. So the choice is up you. You can either awaken your dormant Krishna consciousness or remain in illusion spellbound by the Lord's illusory energy. Sankarshan Das Adhikari

Wednesday 19 July 2017 Austin, Texas USA Today's Thought: The Greatest of All Gains We should not hesitate to fully surrender ourselves to Lord Krishna mistakenly thinking that by doing so we will lose something, because the real fact is that by surrendering to Krishna we will gain everything. How is this so? When we fully give ourselves to Krishna, Krishna fully gives Himself to us. And since all of existence is contained within Krishna, by fully surrendering ourselves to Krishna He becomes our personal property and we become the virtual owners of everything. Therefore when we fully surrender ourselves to Krishna we can never be lacking in any way. We will experience Krishna's shelter as the greatest of all gains. Sankarshan Das Adhikari
Video For the Day: Message for Earth Citizens You Tube: Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/Ultimate.Self.Realization/videos/1415032135246137/ To See All the Videos for the Day: Answers by Citing the Vedic Version: Question: What is the Life After Death? Dear Prabhu, I have always a question in my mind. That is, what is the life after death? What will happen to my soul? Am I doing the right thing every day? Is my every action correct? If not, how I will come to know whether it is wrong or right? Please clarify. CA Prasanta Kumar Behera Answer: It Depends on Your Consciousness at the Time of Death At the time of death the soul will pass into another material body according to his consciousness at the time of death. If he is absorbed in loving devotion to Krishna, he will enter into the spiritual world and remain there eternally as a blissful youth in a beautiful loving relationship with Krishna. If, on the other hand, he is absorbed in some material thoughts, he will take another material body to suffer again birth, death, old age, and disease here within this material world in any one the 8,400,000 different species. Therefore, since death can come at any time, even when we least expect it, we should be careful to always be in a mood of loving service to Krishna in all times, places, and circumstances to guarantee that we will return to His abode after departing from our present bodies. The art of how to always be absorbed in the mood of loving Krishna or God is learned from the bona fide spiritual master. Therefore you should become the disciple of the bona fide spiritual master and mold your life according to his instructions. In this way at the time of death your entrance into the spiritual world is guaranteed. And you will never take birth again here in this material world. Sankarshan Das Adhikari

Tuesday 18 July 2017 Austin, Texas USA Today's Thought: Everyone is Hankering for Krishna Everyone is hankering for love. In other words, everyone is hankering to be in a perfect loving relationship. Perfect loving relationship means a relationship which is completely devoid of any kind of cheating, duplicity or selfishness. Even though everyone is hankering for such perfect loving relationship, no one is able to find or achieve such a relationship in this world. Therefore everyone here is frustrated. Such an ideal perfect loving relationship can only be achieved by reviving our lost loving relationship with Krishna or God. Therefore to achieve genuine happiness everyone in the world should become Krishna conscious. Sankarshan Das Adhikari

Dear Srila Gurudeva, Please accept my humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada! I will pray to Krishna according to your guidance and execute my duty as a disciple as best as I can. Dear Gurudeva, I am very much inspired and touched by your message. Despite the physical pain, you remain super enthusiastic in sparking off a spiritual revolution. How can we follow your footstep and become enthusiastic like you all the time? Your insignificant servant Answer: Making Myself and the World Krishna Conscious I personally do not see any meaning or purpose for my existence here and now in this world other than to follow these instructions of Srila Prabhupada to make myself fully Krishna conscious and to make the world Krishna conscious. Srila Prabhupada did not abandon his revolutionary, deliver-the-world consciousness even when he was on his deathbed. In fact, in his final days in Vrindavana he stated:
So as his disciple it is my duty to have the same revolutionary spirit as exemplified by my most beloved Guru Maharaja, His Divine Grace Srila Prabhupada. To faithfully follow in his footsteps I must always be enthusiastic to embrace the mood of pure bhakti within my heart and I must also always be enthusiastic to flood this darkened world with the brilliant light of Krishna consciousness. When I was a young brahmacari I was appreciated by Srila Prabhupada for my enthusiasm to make the world Krishna conscious. So now in my old age it is my duty to maintain this same mood up until my last dying breath, or even birth-after-birth if that is what the Lord desires for me. Sankarshan Das Adhikari

Monday 17 July 2017 Austin, Texas USA Today's Thought: The Ultimate Pain Relief System How to be blissful when you are overwhelmed by misery? This is when it really pays off to be Krishna conscious, the ultimate pain relief system. Since we are always pestered by one misery or another at every minute, Krishna consciousness is the most valuable treasure to be gained anywhere in all of existence. So how does one then become totally fixed in Krishna consciousness and thus always remain blissful? The secret is that in all times, places, circumstances engage all of your thoughts, words and deeds in a manner which is completely pleasing to the Supreme Personality of Godhead, Lord Sri Krishna. How to do this is learned by carefully studying and following the teachings of Krishna as He speaks them in the Bhagavad-gita. This is done under the loving guidance and supervision of Krishna's authorized representative, the bona fide spiritual master. Sankarshan Das Adhikari

Sunday 16 July 2017 Austin, Texas USA Today's Thought: Vaisnava is an Ocean of Compassion We can easily analyze ourselves to see how much we are awakened in Krishna consciousness by seeing how much we feel compassion for those living beings who are presently suffering like anything in the ocean of birth death. They are factually in the most pitiable situation sometimes incarnating as human beings, sometimes taking birth as animal or plants, and sometimes even taking birth as germs. What could be more pitiable than this? So we have to feel compassion upon them and try to save them from the hell that they are going through. This is our most sacred duty. Sankarshan Das Adhikari

Friday 14 July 2017 Austin, Texas USA Today's Thought: World Whole Ecstatic Prema Dance Lord Caitanya says, "I shall personally inaugurate the religion of the age - nama-sankirtana, the congregational chanting of the holy name. I shall make the world dance in ecstasy, realizing the four mellows of loving devotional service." (CC Adi 3.19) So this is our mission and our philosophy as confirmed by Srila Prabhupada:

Thursday 13 July 2017 Austin, Texas USA Today's Thought: Living For the Deliverance of All Our Krishna consciousness movement is dedicated to the deliverance of living beings who are currently suffering in the cycle of repeated birth and death. There is no cause which is nobler or greater than this. This world deliverance mission is our family business. Therefore all the members of the Krishna consciousness movement should tightly embrace this goal within their heart of hearts and thus always think, speak, and act in all times, places, and circumstances in a way which is favorable for bringing about the deliverance of all those who are suffering in karma cakra. I wish that your lotus feet may always be in my mind. All glories to our beloved Srila Prabhupada. In my bewildered mind once appeared a horrible demoniac thought. What would be if nothing would be here. Complete darkness and void space. I was very scared of this thought and again wished that Lord Sri Krishna save me from this deadly demon of darkness. My question is: Is there a place in the whole existence where nothing exists. I understand that we all exist and Krishna and his holy Name exists eternally. But what about nonexistence? Maybe its just a state of mind in somebody's illusioned diseased consciousness. Hare Krishna. Answer: Non-Existence is Non-Existent If nothing were here, you wouldn’t have to worry because you wouldn’t be here either. But rest assured that the "nothing exists" philosophy is not true. Nonexistence exists as a concept only, even though faulty. So even the concept of non-existence defeats itself by existing. The factual reality is that existence does exist. The proof is that you can ponder it. Self-realization means to attain the perfection of existence. Our philosophy is substance. Sankarshan Das Adhikari

Wednesday 12 July 2017 Austin, Texas USA Today's Thought: When Maya Attacks You When maya, the Lord's illusory energy, attacks you, do not surrender to maya. Rather you should fight maya, defeat her by taking complete shelter of Krishna. If you give into maya and follow her dictates, you will remain entangled in the miserable cycle of repeated birth and death. However, if you will defy maya, by taking complete shelter of Krishna, you will regain your original, eternal identity in the unlimitedly sweet pastimes of Lord Sri Krishna in that most wondrous spiritual sky. So now what you do is up to you. It's your choice. Surrender to maya or surrender to Krishna, and reap the corresponding result. Sankarshan Das Adhikari

My dear respected Gurudeva, Please accept my humble obeisances. I encountered a verse that seemingly contradicts a verse in the Bhagavad-gita, and I was wondering if you could help me to understand how to reconcile these two verses. Srimad Bhagavatam (Canto 2, chapter 2, text 27):
Bhagavad-gita (Chapter 8, verse 16):
Srila Prabhupada’s translation indicates that “a-brahma-bhuvanal – up to the Brahmaloka plane” The Bhagavatam seems to say that Satyaloka is not subject to birth, death, old age and disease. The Bhagavad-gita seems to say that it is subject to these four states. Can you shed on light on this seeming contradiction? Always an insignificant servant, Hare Krishna, Answer: Two Different Satyalokas In this connection, Srila Prabhupada explains as follows:

Tuesday 11 July 2017 Austin, Texas USA Today's Thought: You Owe it to Yourself You owe it to yourself to awaken your dormant Krishna consciousness. Why should you cheat yourself by remaining a slave of the material energy caught up in the all-entangling cycle of repeated birth, death, old age, and disease for countless eons of lifetimes? Do yourself the highest good by reviving your actual identity as the servant of Krishna. You will unlimitedly glad that you did. Sankarshan Das Adhikari

Dear Srila Gurudeva: I read your E-Course today, I got surprised and felt sad about your health. I do not know what reason causes Srila Gurudeva to suffer like this. As your disciple/ spiritual daughter, what I can do to help you? Your servant Answer: Faithfully Abide by Your Initiation Vows The best help the disciples can render to the spiritual master is to faithfully follow their initiation vows. This means that they must carefully chant their japa every day and strictly follow the four regulative principles: no illicit sex, no meat eating, no intoxication, and no gambling. If the disciples deviate from their initiation vows this may sometimes cause the spiritual master to suffer. In this connection Srila Prabhupada explains as follows:
Therefore, my disciples should take very seriously what Srila Prabhupada has described above and always faithfully abide by their initiation vows. Otherwise they may be causing me to suffer. Sankarshan Das Adhikari

Monday 10 July 2017 Austin, Texas USA Today's Thought: Remembering When I am remembering back in the most glorious 60's how Srila Prabhupada so mercifully came to America on the order of his spiritual master, Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati Thakura, to introduce the Krishna consciousness movement here in the West. This was truly one of most splendorous moments in all of world history. Srila Prabhupada said that the day his movement began was the day he sat down to sing kirtana in New York City's Tompkins Square Park and was joined in the kirtana by hundreds of people on 9 October 1966. Guru Maharaja, Please accept my humble obeisances. How are you? How is your health? Therefore I am getting expert medical care, undergoing a very thorough therapy regimen to gradually bring my body back to normal functionality. In the meantime I am regularly experiencing intense pain in my left leg and cannot move or situate my body normally. In spite of this, I am tasting transcendental happiness by maintaining my regular routine. I am rising early to chant japa mala and attend mangala arati at 430am, as well as cooking the Lord’s morning breakfast offering, producing Video for the Day, writing Thought for the Day, answering emails, putting the Lord to rest at night, and my other routine duties. Plus I am now planning our next around-the-world lecture tour and in the process of releasing a unique music CD called “Our Sweet Lord” of Krishna conscious songs in English. Sankarshan Das Adhikari

Sunday 9 July 2017 Austin, Texas USA Today's Thought: Shining Light in the Dark Night We are presently in the dark night of the age of Kali. It's a horrible age of unspeakable abuse. There is a light which can illuminate this dark night and bring peace and happiness to all. That light is the Bhagavat Purana, the Srimad Bhagavatam, which states in Canto 1, Chapter 3, Text 43 as follows:
Take advantage of this light, and make your life perfect. You'll attain unlimited happiness. Sankarshan Das Adhikari

Saturday 8 July 2017 Austin, Texas USA Today's Thought: Make All World's Leaders Krishna Conscious In Los Angeles on 29 December 1973 Srila Prabhuapda explained as follows:
So this is our aim. We want to make all the world's leaders pure devotees of Krishna. If we can do this, we will experience globally once the happy days of Bhagavat Dharma (Vedic culture) as in ancient times when it flourished all over the world. Sankarshan Das Adhikari
Video For the Day: Beyond All Suffering You Tube: Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/Ultimate.Self.Realization/videos/1404135323002485/ To See All the Videos for the Day: Answers by Citing the Vedic Version: Question: How to Pray for Others? I still don't understand about praying for others. It is OK to pray for the others - devotees and non devotees or not? I mean personally. Gurumataji told, if I correctly understood, that when we are chanting we are already praying. But when I am chanting Hare Krishna I don't feel I am praying for others and I also don't feel that I am chanting because I want to save the world. It is OK to pray for each other if there is a need? Because now I see that I am egoistic and I don't want to pray for others. So if I try to chant at least one round for the others it will give benefit not only for the others but also for me. I'll become less egoistic. Devotees are practicing praying for each other, for example, when they are sick. Spiritual masters are praying for their disciples. It is said that prayers of devotees are very powerful. So I make the conclusion that it's good to pray for each other. Please, help me to figure out all this. Your servant, Answer: Chant Hare Krishna Without Offense The most important prayer is the Hare Krishna mantra. In this prayer we are begging the Lord and His energy to please engage us their pure devotional service. When we chant Hare Krishna we are chanting for our own deliverance and also automatically we are chanting for the deliverance of all living beings who are entangled in the cycle of birth and death in this rotten material world. It is not that you should dedicate a particular round for a particular purpose. Every round that we chant bestows the highest good both upon us and all living beings throughout all of existence. Neophyte devotees tend to concoct prayers that are tinged with material sense gratification and are therefore advised to only pray by chanting Hare Krishna and the authorized prayers of the great Vaisnava acaryas, such as the Gurvastakam prayers that we sing at mangala arati, and the Siksastakam prayers composed by Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu. If we pray improperly for material sense gratification, such praying will keep us entangled in the cycle of birth and death. This is why the neophyte devotee should only pray via the authorized prayers of the great Vaisnava acaryas. If a devotee is sick, we should personally take care of him to nurse him back to health. This is real love. It is not that we should simply utter some prayer and go away. Bona fide spiritual masters fully dedicate their every thought, word, and deed in all times, places, and circumstances for the deliverance of all living beings who are suffering in the cycle of birth, not just their disciples. Friday 7 July 2017 Austin, Texas USA Today's Thought: The Preacher's Visualization The preacher of Krishna consciousness visualizes a world in which everyone is Krishna conscious, a world in which 66 thousand babies are not murdered every day in the abortion clinics, and a world in which 156 millions innocent animals are not cruelly murdered every day in the slaughterhouses. He lives at every moment for this purpose begging Krishna that soon the madness of Kali yuga will go into remission and the golden era of Lord Caitanya, which began 531 years ago in a seedlike state can now expand exponentially for the complete, total respiritualization of the entire human society. Hare Krishna, Please accept my humble obeisances. I have question. How to become steady in Krishna consciousness? Many times I fall prey to lusty desires, which are there in my mind, and I fall down. I then lose all my enthusiasm for devotional service. How to really be joyfully executing devotional service ? Kindly help. Thank you . Your aspiring servant Answer: Everything for Pleasure of Guru and Krishna The secret for being steady in Krishna is to always think, speak, and act in all times, places, and circumstances in a way that is pleasing to Guru and Krishna. Whenever you are in difficulty pray to your spiritual master and Krishna to help you. In this way, magic will happen and you will find yourself happily, steadily absorbed once again in Krishna consciousness. If you don't have a spiritual master, you need to get one, not one of these rascal so-called gurus who are nothing more than imposters and who are a dime a dozen. You need to fully surrender yourself to a bona fide spiritual master, the spiritual master who purely represents Krishna. Sankarshan Das Adhikari

Dear Srila Gurudeva, Please accept my humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Gurudeva. Dear Srila Gurudeva. Why suffering is so good in spiritual life? What about happiness? Can devotees of the God be happy? Why for example some Christian saints purposefully caused themselves suffering? In Krishna stories there is also some this kind of stories? Why is that? Why can't we love God when we are healthy and happy? I feel that if I get too much suffering, I easily give up life. So, if I get too much suffering, I will give up living. Is life opposite to spiritual life? Can one live healthily and happily and be spiritual? Much spiritual happiness, sincerely, Answer: Material Suffering Helps Us to Surrender to Krishna When we are materially happy we tend to forget God, feeling that we do not need Him. But when a pious person is distressed he naturally turns to God for help. This is why great spiritualists appreciate the great benefit of suffering. Or course, it is not that such great spiritualists are actually suffering. Rather they are relishing the unlimited bliss of purely loving God in all conditions of so-called happiness and distress. For them both material happiness and distress are coverings of the unlimited bliss of fully surrendering oneself to Krishna or God. Sankarshan Das Adhikari

Wednesday 5 July 2017 Austin, Texas USA Today's Thought: Krishna Will Never Abandon You Each and every living being is unlimitedly dear to Krishna. Therefore even if they reject Him, coming to this material world to try to enjoy separately from Him, He remains with them traveling with them as the Supersoul, the Paramatma. This is confirmed as follows in the Katha Upanisad:
Therefore there is no reason to ever feel lonely or abandoned. Krishna in the form of the Supersoul always remains with us as our constant companion. Sankarshan Das Adhikari

My Dearest Srila Gurudeva, Please accept my humble obeisances. I just watched your Video for the Day. It was very difficult for me to see you in such pain. Only you, with your strength of mind and character, could turn it around and make it something positive for becoming Krishna Conscious. I wish there is something I could do for you! I am only a meaningless, worthless, humble devotee but I will pray for you and my thoughts will be with you. Your servant, Bhakta Das Answer: Always Live in Accordance with Your Initiation Vows My Dear Bhakta Das, Please accept my blessings. Thank you very much for your concern about my present condition of body. It is our unlimited good fortune to know that we are not our bodies. Since our bodies have been given to us by Lord Sri Krishna to engage in His devotional service, it is our duty to always make our best effort to keep them in good operating condition. But in any condition of sick or healthy, we must do our best to always remain twenty-four hours a day in Krishna consciousness The best thing that the disciples can do for their spiritual master is to always engage themselves nicely in Krishna consciousness by undeviatingly living in accordance with the vows that they took at the time of initiation. I hope this meets you in the best of health and in an ecstatic mood. Your ever well-wisher, Sankarshan Das Adhikari

Tuesday 4 July 2017 Austin, Texas USA Today's Thought: True Independence Today, the fourth of July, is a big national holiday in the USA in celebration of the original 13 American colonies adopting the Declaration of Independence on 4 July 1776 separating themselves from membership in the British Empire. But this is not real independence. Real independence means to become free from birth, death, old age, and disease by fully surrendering oneself unto Lord Sri Krishna under the direction of the bona fide spiritual master. We therefore pray for that day when all the people of the world can celebrate their true independence after fully surrendering themselves unto Lord Sri Krishna. Then they can truly celebrate their independency by having a humongous, super ecstatic Hare Krishna kirtana. Sankarshan Das Adhikari

I have very big problem. For many years before coming to Krishna Consciousness I was totally addicted to pornography. But after I joined the temple I gave it up. Up until my initiation I was strictly following my vows and thus totally avoiding porn. But seven months ago I fell down, and again I have come back to this disgusting habit. It's really a big problem now, and I don't know how to stop it. I do not want to fall back to my previous sinful life, but I just do not have any strength to kill this nasty habit. Please kindly help me to somehow solve this problem. Giving this up is the most important thing in my life, but I don't know how to become free from this. Aspiring to be your insignificant servant, Answer: Beg Guru and Krishna to Help You Every time your mind is disturbed by the desire to see pornography intensely beg Guru and Krishna to save you from this. Beg Guru and Krishna to help you to absorb your mind in Krishna, who is millions of times more attractive than a woman’s body. In this way, you can actually use your attraction to porno as a springboard to strengthen your relationship with Guru and Krishna. Don’t worry. Many devotees have had this problem and conquered over it. The method I teach is very powerful and effective. You must simply intensely beg Guru and Krishna to save you every time Maya attacks. Train yourself to do this automatically every time you get disturbed by lusty thoughts. In this way very soon you will be a fixed up gosvami, a devotee whose mind never deviates from Krishna consciousness. Sankarshan Das Adhikari

Monday 3 July 2017 Austin, Texas USA Today's Thought: The World's Greatest Movie On 29 June 2017 shortly after we landed in Los Angeles from a 20 hour flight from Australia, my disciple Bhaktavatsala Das drove my wife and I to a nearby movie theatre to watch a showing of "Hare Krishna, the Film." It was a truly a super exhilarating experience. Srila Prabhupada is truly present in that amazing film. One can feel a very strong connection with Srila Prabhupada when seeing that film. And the more we feel connected with Srila Prabhupada, the more we become Krishna conscious and qualified to go back to home, back to Godhead. What could be sweeter than this? Saturday 1 July 2017 Los Angeles, California USA Today's Thought: Be Natural Be natural. Don't be artificial. This the smart thing to do because your natural self is eternal, full of bliss, and full of knowledge. It is only your artificial self which is temporary, full of ignorance, and full of misery. The difficulty at the present moment is that we are all living in a world society which teaches us from the very moment of birth that the artificial self, the material body, is the actual self. In this way we are programmed to unnecessarily suffer a life of ignorance and misery. By proper training and guidance we can be free from the influence of this false propaganda and come back to our original, natural position: Krishna consciousness. Sankarshan Das Adhikari
